Surprise -- I'm posting

It has been so long since I posted, I will have to make a few dumb mistakes while I relearn how to do this.

The last time I posted anything was after Jodi's wedding in Aug. Oh -- is this really May!

My mom and Dad had a reunion at Thanksgiving. It was so much fun, even if we did have to move everything inside because it rained all day. But no complaints...I love the rain. I decided how you can tell when someone is really from Dixie... They love the rain! Yup it is so rare that it is wonderful.

We went to Montana to have Christmas with Lacie, Katie and Tyson. Jake was in Iraq, so It was fair for her to have us. It was snowy and cold, but we had a great time. Carson loved being able to help people get unstuck. Kent made Lacie and Jake a beautiful gun cabinet and book case combination for Christmas. (you guessed it... it was a compromise) It turned out great. You probably saw the picutres on Lacie's blog.

Kayla and her family came down in March and Kayla spent 4 days at the shop making her entertainment center and wet bar for her basement. It was fun having her and some of her family's friends here too. I don't have pictures, but it is beautiful. Kenny has already got his big t.v hooked up to his games and linked to his friends. He is such a geek, and I use the term affectionatly. :)

My daddy passed away on April 6th. I miss him so much. The last week of his life here was very hard for him. All of my sisters and brothers were able to spend that week together with him and mom. The closeness of our family was cemented during that time of caring for him, and being with him. His funeral was a wonderful tribute to his life, and the military honors at the cemetary was so moving. The day was wonderful but very draining. We find comfort in knowing Dad is with his mom, who died when he was 7 years old. What a great reunion.

Carson has gone to Indiana to sell security systems for a few months, then to Kentucky. We are slowly getting his STUFF put in his shed, he mostly got built before he left. I miss his helpfulness but not his mess. Hope he is looking for a wife.
