WORKING VACATION

Alora, Brooklyn, Chase, Boston, Randy and Melinda soon to be Rumsey. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of Kami and Phil when they came back so fresh and clean. NOT When I was taking pictures. Talli was sleeping. I'll have to try later.

Working Vacation ---more pictures

Idaho --my July working vacation

I was able to go to Idaho and stay with Kayla and Kenny to take care of Kami and Phil's Kids while they went on a treck with their ward to Martin's Cove, and the Willie Handcart Site. It was way fun and way lots of work. Here are some pictures I took while we were there.

This is Kaden, Kayla and Kennys youngest.

Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde as just as cool a I imagined it to be. Even if it was hot. We only stoped at The Spruce Tree cliff dwellings.
This old cedar tree is so unique, I just had to get a picture.

I am still trying to figure out all the tricks to this blogging stuff, so forgive me when pictures are out of order. We stayed in a cabin at Blue Spruce Campground, just north of the lake. I was able to take two of my grandkids with me and my mom. It was so peaceful there, even with Morgan and Carter.

Vallecito Lake

I was able to take my mom to a family reunion in Colorado at Vallecito Lake. It was beautiful there. We got some rain, but it added to the beauty. The area we camped in reminded me a lot of how PineValley use to be.

Growing in thin air

Kent has been working on Airoponics. We wre excited about the possibility of actually growing vegetables and fruit in thin air. He is just getting it set up now. He took cuttings off of the tomato plants , pepper plants, and some strawberry runners out of the garden. So far they haven't wilted, it is a little early to see roots yet, but that is suppose to happen. We are hoping everything goes like it should. He has planted seeds, but it is still too early to see any roots. I will keep you posted.

Life in July

Just a note to let you know that Kent and Chris have been working hard on the construction of the teardrop trailer. you can see the progress through pictures on Chris and Louises blogspot, linked from here. It is awesome. Kent said today that the fun stuff is almost done, and the rest of the work is just work.
Karen has been in town this weekend. It has been good to visit with her. I miss being able to go to Idaho and just play, not just with her, but with my kids and my grandkids.
I made some more cakes this week, but I forgot to take pictures before I boxed them up and wrapped them tight, and put them in the freezer, for Sherry to take back to Idaho for me. Maybe I can get a picture from Kami and Melinda later.

It is so hot here, I have the cooler in the garage to try to keep the heat down while I have food orders here. I think it is helping a bit.
Everyday I think I turn the temp. on my AC down one more degree. I think is is great, since Carson and Kent fixed the AC we realize how much the motor struggled the last few years to keep it at a reasonable temperature. It is cool now with a new motor....Thanks Carson and Kent.( the latter being mostly moral support) :)

Here are a couple of cake I made last week. I am having a lot of fun. I have a couple of people who want me to teach them how to do the fondant. If you want to come for a class, let me know.

My Mom and Dad

This is an awesome picture of my parents. They are doing pretty good. Dad has some really bad days when his blood pressure drops so low, but the next day he seems better. No one can figure out why or what for.
My mom has been in charge of the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in St. George for the past few years. She does a great job working with all the churches in the area that want to participate in donating their time and resources. She will soon be releaved from this stake/ area calling so she can stay home and take care of Dad.
I am so lucky to have them. I try to spend at least one afternoon a week with them, and I get to volunteer in the temple with mom every saturday evening. It is a special time for me, and I am enjoying it while I can, I know I won't always have this time.

This is the most recent picture of Lia. She came to play with me.
