Sports

So as the end of both soccer and football are approaching, we have had quite an exciting week. Last Friday Carter went to his 2hr, 3xs a week, football practice. Lucky for us it was UEA weekend, so there wasn't a game scheduled. I picked him up from practice to find that he had jammed his finger tackling someone. We went home and iced it. The next day, the center of his hand was just as bruised as his pinky knuckle, and just as swollen. We took him into Instacare and confirmed he had broken his hand. Most breaks require a cast, which can then be padded so the child can continue to play football...yes, apparently this happens a lot. Anyway, we prepared and went in to get a cast. We left in a 1/2 cast, splint type thingy. The doctor said that if he plays with a break in his hand, especially for the last two games of the season, he may have to go in and grind down the bones and put a metal plate in it. We both left with watery eyes, but knowing it was for the best. (He decided to go with a splint so that he couldn't change his mind, pad the cast, and play his last two games.) So now Carter has a broken hand, no cool blue cast for everyone to sign, and he still has to go to practices and games. His team did win their first game of the season yesterday though, with him on the sidelines cheering them on. Earlier in the day, Morgan's soccer team also won their first game for the season! She is the back defender, and is awesome. She very rarely comes off the field during the games, and was last season's most improved player. I am so thankful for a coordinated husband. I am amazed at the athletic ability my family has. Logan is saving up for her first dance classes in January, so she passed on the Fall sports, but was brave enough to try out for a choir solo, and got it!!! She won't let me hear her sing, so I have little ears all over the school listening for me. Little Ben is playing flag football, is very determined, and has a few games left. (I love the city sports here. 3 week seasons!) Wrestling started 2 weeks ago, and it's killing me that I couldn't sign him up. This is going to be "his sport". He loves nothing better than wrestling! Balian is playing soccer for his 3rd season, and I am coaching again. Funny, I know, but I only have to know more than the kids. lol
I am making the kids' Halloween costumes again this year and they are looking great!...or they were, until my timing flipped on one machine, and the tension spring broke on the other...within the same 3 minutes that the foot pedal started sparking. *sigh* I don't dare borrow anyone else's machine. I can't afford to fix it when I'm done.
So this week is Ben's 90 hr week, so I need to be organized and on top of things so we can thrive. Just surviving is a last resort, but I usually get to that point by the end of the week. lol
I will try to post each week, so that it's not a novel next time. I love you all!

It will work

Each Month we will all get 1000 points and the list of items. It will be very simply, so don't worry. We probably won't know in advance what will be coming, because as we reduce and remodel each room we will have to decide what to keep. Today we are cleaning out and painting the garage. I decided Dad hoards things worse than me. Do you even know how many fishing poles we have?  Some that don't even work! We have an old wooden fly pole that would be good for decoration only. He said he is going to put it on ebay....we all know that won't happen. I don't know what to do with that one. Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

This is a New Blog for our Family Experiences and Events

We will, and want each of you to post events that are coming up and pictures of events that have happened. We are so scattered and busy in our lives raising our families, and trying to earn a living, that we have got to stay in touch with each other and be aware of the many things that are happening in each of our lives, or we will miss out on what a family is and the support that family gives to us. We need to share happy times as well as  the disappointments we experience. Please share  your family updates and experiences with us at least once a week. I will try to do my updates on Sunday.

We have decided that as we get the money to work on our home we will be fixing things that need to be fixed as well as doing some remodeling that will allow us to rent out the basement as an apartment. Which will bring us some income after the remodel is finished. It should take about three years to pay for the remodel. The possibility of selling our home is also a very real option.
As we go through each room in our home and downsize, we will be doing away with a lot of items that have been a part of our lives and yours. When we were at Time Out For Women last year, the Eyer's spoke of doing the same thing before they went on their mission. they told about cutting down on the quantity of THINGS they had in their home. You may remember the Family Auctions they told stories about! Well, we  have decided to do just that. Soon we will post pictures and items that are up for auction. Each of the Children will receive  a thousand (1,000) points to start. (It will be up to you in your own families to involve the grandchildren. There will be some items that they may want to bid on.) All items will include information about their importance in our lives. You will place bids through this blog to us. Each family will be given a bidder name that nobody else will know, so you won't know who is bidding. Auctions will be ongoing, and each item in the auction will be open for bidding for 1 month. In some cases there will be items that are for auction more that 1 month. We want this to be a fun way to get some of the items that mean something to each of you, while we can reduce the amount of stuff we have around our home. Items that are not bid on will go to the DI. There may be items that are not available for you to take possession of right away, but will be labeled with your name. I hope you are looking forward to this event with us. Let's Have Fun!!!!

Dad and I are enjoying our new callings so far in the Special Needs Mutual. We are looking forward to having Kayla and Kenny's family here for Christmas. We will be able to spend time with Jodi and Tom's family and Ty and Ben's family before  and on Christmas. Then we have the chance to travel to Spokane and See Kami and Phil's family and  Lacie and Jake's family for my birthday. The only ones We are missing is Melinda and Randy's family. :(  Hopefully we can see them soon. We love you all. Let us know what you are doing and how you are holding up.
